Introducing Fellshore: Strategy, Communications and Impact

Launching Fellshore is a really special moment for us, by us, we mean Jen and Colin.
Between us, we’ve spent more than 40 years working across business growth, strategy, policy, communications and engagement. Colin’s career has been rooted in supporting businesses and economies to grow, designing and delivering major programmes across the UK. Jen’s career has been focused on helping organisations find their voice, shaping strategies and building trust through clear, purposeful communications.
We first met more than a decade ago working in economic development and quickly discovered we shared the same belief: real change happens when strategy, communications and delivery work together. Too often, we’ve seen strategies that look impressive on paper but don’t translate into everyday practice, or communications activity that isn’t connected to an organisation’s wider goals. We knew there was a better way.
That’s why we created Fellshore. The name reflects the places that ground us: for Colin, the fells of the Lake District; for Jen, the shores of South Shields. Together, it represents our Northern roots, our families, and the sense of purpose that underpins everything we do.
We wanted to be really clear with our clients and stakeholders about what we do and how we can help. So, when we created Fellshore, we shaped our work around four tailored areas that reflect the stages organisations go through to connect strategy to impact:
Define: shaping and sharpening strategy so it’s clear, meaningful and embedded across the organisation. We focus on making strategies live and breathe, turning them from documents into everyday drivers of decision-making and culture.
Engage: creating authentic connections with people inside and outside the organisation. From internal communications to stakeholder engagement, this is about building trust, clarity and shared purpose.
Activate: turning strategy into action, whether that’s campaigns, programmes or initiatives. We help organisations move from plans to delivery, creating momentum and visibility along the way.
Deliver: supporting leaders and teams to follow through, measure outcomes and demonstrate impact. This is about accountability and ensuring strategies don’t just start well, but make a lasting difference.
For us, this is never about consultancy at a distance. It’s about partnership: listening, challenging and becoming an extension of the teams we work with. We love working alongside organisations that are ambitious about their impact, and we’re proud when we see the positive shifts that happen when strategy and communications align.
Fellshore is a new chapter for us, but more importantly, it’s a way of helping others write theirs.
